Ilene Hanks Kingsbury was born April 25, 1905 in Parowan, Utah to Samuel and Mabel Whitney Hanks. On December 20, 1929, she married Ronald Lovesy Kingsbury in the Salt Lake Temple. Ilene graduated from the University of Utah and taught school. For 32 years she was a partner in her husband's accounting business. She also owned her own printing shop for 20 years. She published short storied and articles extensively in the LDS Church magazines and Western Historical journals. She helped write history books for the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and contributed to the first LDS Family Home Evening Manual.
