Iris Parker Corry was born on December 18, 1917, to James Elbert Parker and Lucinda Snow Parker. She majored in journalism at Brigham Young University, graduating in 1941. Iris worked for the FBI, KSL broadcasting, and
Improvement Era. She served for two years on the Young Women’s General Board. Iris married Elwood J. Corry in 1956. One child was born to this union, Dr. E. J. Corry of Highland, Utah. Iris has six step-children, whom she also helped raise, thirty-one grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Elwood and Iris served a mission to San Jose, California, from 1979 to 1980. In 1987, Iris published a book of poetry,
Bread and Milk for Supper. A widow since 1998, Iris lives in Cedar City, Utah. [from
