James C. Christensen was an American artist of religious and fantasy art and formerly an instructor at Brigham Young University. Christensen said his inspirations were myths, fables, fantasies, and tales of imagination.
Christensen co-chaired the Mormon Arts Foundation with his wife Carole. Among other callings in the LDS Church he served for a time as a bishop of a ward.
He painted several murals for the Provo City Center Temple.
Christensen died January 8, 2017, of bladder cancer.
