Jeanne Leighton Clarke is a painter who works with symbolism and believes art symbolizes life and all the roles she is trying to fill as a mother, artist, wife, housekeeper, and more.
Studied at the Chicago Art Institute and at the University of Chicago until moving to Connecticut. While there, she studied at Yale University. She later earned her MFA from Brigham Young University.
Jeanne Clarke became a professor teaching drawing and painting at Brigham Young University after raising her children. After the age 50 she moved to Utah and received her degree from BYU, allowing her to teach.
