Laurel Stowe Brady was born and raised in Vermont, third oldest in a family of eleven children. She graduated from BYU with degree in Government and English. She is married to Jim Brady and they are the parents of eight children. They have been foster parents to more than 100 children. Laurel worked for more than 25 years as 911 police, fire, and medical dispatcher. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her writing.
