Lorine Hutchinson Lee was born November 24, 1904 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. She was adopted at birth by John and Mary Jane Hutchinson of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada where she spent her early years. She converted to the LDS church in 1923. One of the missionaries she met during that time was Wilford D. Lee, who she married on August 24, 1925 in the Salt Lake City temple. Lorine received her BA and MA degrees from Brigham Young University. She taught school for many years in Provo, Nebo, and Price school districts in Utah and also in Woodland, California.
Lorine served as critic and editor of her husbands writing and was a fine writer herself. She contributed both prose and poetry to the LDS Relief Society Magazine and articles to Professional Educator Magazines and PTA Publications.
