Lucille Waters Mattson was born June 20, 1916 in Rigby, Idaho, to Elmer Evan Waters and Melbie Ormond Waters. She attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School and then continued her education at Ricks College. On Oct. 26, 1934, she married George Franklin Mattson in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they lived in Rigby and worked on the family farm. Later they moved to Moses Lake, Washington. Lucille worked as a secretary and a realtor. She and George Mattson divorced and Lucille married Jewel Neils Hansen on November 1, 1974 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Lucille enjoyed writing poetry, (of which she had several published) quilting, gardening, farming, outdoor activities and traveling. She was an active member of the LDS church and enjoyed working with the youth.
