Roxana Farnsworth Hase was born September 7, 1897 in Manti, Utah to Moses Franklin and Lovina Bulkley Farnsworth. She graduated from the Latter-day Saints Hospital in Salt Lake City and became a registered nurse. She married Grover Hase in 1922. After his death in 1935, she went back to nursing and was head nurse at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City for many years, and was later Assistant Chief Evening Supervisor at the Veterans Hospital. Roxana enjoyed poetry and was the national Poet Laureate for the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century. She was a member of the National League of American Pen Women, the National Writers Club, and other literary organizations. She published a book of poetry entitled "Delicious Lumps."
