Shirley Anderson Bahlmann wrote her first novel of 25 pages when she was ten years old, but her first published work was in a national anthology of high school poets. She's written many roadshows, skits, plays, song lyrics and poems by request. She has spoken to various groups about researching and writing true pioneer stories that she publishes, and has been invited to participate in the Storytelling Festival at Brambleberry Theater in Springdale; gateway to Zion's National Park.
I have many writing interests, yet something about lives of people from long ago intrigues me. Comparing incidents from the pioneer era to current events provides much food for thought. I discover powerful life lessons as well as light-hearted moments in their experiences. It's fascinating! Another thing I've discovered as I've gotten older is that when I use the talents God has blessed me with, he is better able to guide my footsteps in paths that benefit other's lives as well as enhancing my own.
