Terry R. Baker and his wife, Patty, have been married since 1965. They have eight children and over twenty grandchildren. Dr. Baker has a PhD from Brigham young University in family studies and marriage and family counseling. He taught seminary and institute for the Church for over forty years in California, Texas, and most recently Utah. He was an adjunct professor teaching marriage and family classes at BYU for fifteen years. He served our country as a National guard chaplain for thirty years in North Carolina, Texas, Missouri, Utah, California, and Vietnam. Dr. Baker coauthored four previous books on marriage, published three Ensign articles, and wrote dating, courtship, and marriage institute manuals for the Church education System. Dr. Baker served a mission in Southern Australia in 1963–64, and he and Patty served a senior mission in San Diego, California, in 2014–15.
