Abinadi has all the elements of great musical drama. Start with an incredible story of action and intrigue. Wicked King Noah rules his people with tyranny. Along comes a fearless prophet (Abinadi), preaching repentance while threatened with being burned at a stake. In addition there is an evil priest (Alma), who is converted to the light and finds redemption, and a caption of the guard (Gideon), who serves his king until he realizes how truly evil he is. Also included are beautiful women who influence the men and the action of the story. Top it off with the wicked king himself being burned at the stake by the people he betrayed, and you have an epic tale.
