When his stake is about to get a new stake president, Latham Runyon anxiously waits by his phone, hoping that he will be the one chosen. Instead, he gets a call from a woman he home teaches needing help with a leaking sink. In the process of going to help her, he connects with her non-member husband and realizes he doesn't need to live his life as if he's going to be called to be the next stake president.
