Helen and her neighbors have never liked gossip, and the newcomer, May, is the queen of it. Helen has always done her best to simply ignore it, but when her neighbor almost loses his chance at a partnership because of rumors May spread, Helen realizes it’s gone too far. Ignoring May's gossip isn't making the problems go away--it's making them get worse. Helen comes up with a plan and recruits the other PTA women to help her. Every time that May begins to gossip, the women plug their ears. May runs out of the meeting in a rage of embarrassment, not understanding why the women are treating her so terribly. Helen is able to explain that they are trying to help her, and she decides to try her best to fix her gossip problem.
