Minerva is caught between her love for two young men: Percival, the clumsy but dependable second counselor of the Young Men's Improvement Association, and Phil, who smokes and isn't religious, but who is rich and handsome. At a dance, Minerva keeps admiring Phil, making Percival jealous, and when Minerva leaves with Phil after Percival embarrasses himself, Percival assumes that Minerva prefers Phil. However, Minerva explains that she did not want to go with Phil and that when Phil tried to take her to a cabaret, she left. Percival admits he loves Minerva, and she realizes she loves him back.
