A young couple are struggling to make ends meet. The husband has a habit of giving away money and buying things from people who need the money. Eventually he spends a large portion of their remaining money on a sick cow that was owned by a poor family. The wife sees this happen and a feeling of resentment at his financial carelessness grows within her. She resolves to leave him, but, after intense effort, they are able to nurse the cow back to health. He promises to stop spending money as he has been, but eventually buys an abused horse. She forgives him and resolves to accept her husband as he is, with his kindness-motivated money habits.
