Annie moves to Salt Lake City to be taught alongside Marie Williams. There, she meets Parker Josephson, who becomes a dear friend before he moves away to attend university. When he returns, he takes an interest in her, but Annie feels it unfair to Marie, who has always proclaimed her intent to marry Parker. Shortly after returning home, he is called on a mission to Hawaii. While he is away, Annie finishes her schooling, returning home to teach school, and Marie gets married to Billy. Annie hardly dares to hope that Parker will remember her, but after his mission he comes and asks her to marry him. She’s overjoyed at the chance to spend eternity with him.
