As far as Kate Erickson is concerned, prayer doesn’t work and testimonies are only illusions. Unimpressed with either her parents or the Church, 16-year-old Kate turns to friends who do impress her. To get Kate away from the influence of her friends, her parents plan a family vacation and insist that she come. To get even with them, Kate decides to make the trip an adventure in misery. She succeeds, but also makes herself miserable.
Then something happens to Kate that puts her in touch with the great-grandmother for whom she was named, and she learns some important things about herself and her heritage that show her the importance of the gospel in daily life.
You’ll want to take sides with Kate one minute and punish her for her outrageous behavior the next. A great story every girl and mother will enjoy!
