Dale, a former bishop who is now less-active in the Church, sits alone in his house on Christmas Eve. With his furnace broken and his wife gone he is miserable, freezing, and stubbornly avoiding his well-meaning neighbors. Despite Dale's best efforts, one man succeeds in entering his home and fixing his furnace. As they work on the furnace together, Dale finds in his neighbor an unexpected friend.
