An adult son finds his mother's antiquated manners embarrassing and considers placing her in the poorhouse, or home for the elderly poor. He then has a dream of being an inmate in the poorhouse and sees things through his mother's eyes. He wakes up with a renewed awareness of her sacrifices on his behalf and resolves to better care for his aging mother.
