When Louise had her child out of wedlock, her mother insisted that the baby was put up for adoption. At the edge of death after childbirth, Louise had no say in the matter, but spends the next four years searching for her child. Eventually, she finds Jewell and takes the issue to court, which rules in her favor. However, she realized that Jewell’s adoptive parents can give Jewell a better life, and makes the difficult decision to give her up once more. Through Jewell’s adoptive family, Louise meets Dr. Ashton, whom she marries and together they have a son.
