A story about a beautiful young Indian girl, captured by another tribe and brought to Utah. When Mormon Pioneers arrived, she fell in love with one of them. Her captor became jealous and turned her into a seagull. For a long time she lived among the seagulls, until the swarms crickets came and started eating the Pioneers' crops. She led her fellow seagulls in eating the crickets. Later, her captor sought to kill the Pioneer man she had loved. She flew in front of the arrow and saved his life, turning back into a woman. The pioneer man buried her, and above her grave grew sego lilies.
