Penelope is an old woman who spends her days by the fire near a railroad in England. Despite her poor situation, she is content. An unhappy young woman meets her, and Penelope tells the woman about how when she was younger, she wanted to leave home and explore the big cities. However, a minister's sermon about doing the duty in front of you instead of looking for others changed her mind, and she felt that it was a prompting from God telling her to stay home and look after her mother. The young woman heard this story and felt that it was a prompting from God to give up a nursing position and instead tend to her parents, and she found happiness.
