The story centers on Frankie and Brad, two boys who live in a low-cost apartment complex, and a slimy bank-robbing neighbor named Skobey.
After Skobey robs a bank, he stashes the hundreds of thousands of dollars obtained from his crime in a suitcase, which he hides among the ventilation ducts in the attic of his apartment. Unfortunately for him, the attic is shared by the entire apartment complex, and is frequently explored by Brad and Frankie. When they encounter the money, the boys convince themselves that it was left by the now-deceased previous owner of the apartment complex.
While considering whether or not they should turn the money over to the police, they witness a neighbor family being evicted for being behind in their rent. They anonymously pay the back rent, and are thrilled to see the joy this brings to the family, which can now stay in their apartment. The children in the almost-evicted family proclaim that "angels" have helped them. Frankie and Brad go on a "good turn" spree, anonymously buying nice things and thoughtful gifts for their needy neighbors.
It isn't long, however, before Skobey realizes "his" money is missing, and he will stop at nothing to get it back. --(Synopsis from ldsvideo.com)
