Salt Lake City, Utah: Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mutual Improvement Association, December 1927
Fiction, Short Story
Madge Petty is thankful for the beautiful world and for the ranch she and her family live on, but she is sad that her husband, Wilbur, is unwilling to pay tithing. When she goes to Salt Lake, she frames two scriptures: Psalm 50: 12 and Lev. 27: 30 to remind Wilbur that all their blessings and the land come from God. Madge and Wilbur's son eventually comes down with Scarlet Fever, and the couple promise to pay tithing if their son recovers. He does, and Madge and Wilbur pay tithing a few days before Christmas.
