In the valley nestled between western Juab and Utah counties is the mining district known as Tintic. Once the silver mines boasted a mother lode greater than that of the famous Comstock mine in Nevada. But now the mines are closed and the town is sparsely populated. However, memories of how it used to be have not been forgotten. Long-time residents of the area who used to work in the mines recall what it was like during Tintic's glory days.
