"We must lift up our hearts and cheerfully do all we have in our power to do, then trust in God." That is the uplifting message delivered by John Bytheway in his presentation at the 2000 BYU Women's Conference. Speaking in his uniquely enthusiastic, entertaining, and inspiring way, Brother Bytheway recalls both humorous and tender experiences from his own life and the lives of others to illustrate why living the gospel of Jesus Christ is and should be a joyful pursuit.
In her companion presentation, editor and writer Emily Watts says that "appropriate humor releases pressure so that we can solve our problems." Filled with light-hearted yet grateful expressions, Sister Watts assures her listeners that "Our God is a person of good cheer," finding ample evidence of that in the beauty and variety of his creations.
